Although Gwen Bourgeois has spent more than 30 years in the corporate world, she sometimes wonders what life would have been like to have pursued her childhood ambition to become a professional singer. Thankfully – at least for Care Services clients – Gwen started her professional career in the corporate world and has never looked back!
For most of her career, Gwen has worked in customer service or client-facing roles where she has enjoyed providing quality support to policyholders, or to customers delivering care to patients.

Gwen began her career in the insurance industry, working as a claims adjuster for two major insurance companies. This experience helped her hone valuable skills that she has leveraged in all future roles, such as the importance of providing friendly customer service, being an empathetic listener, and responding to issues and concerns promptly.
After 22 years as a claims adjuster, Gwen transitioned into outside sales, which she claims is the best career move she ever made. Her jovial and good-natured, Southern charm was the perfect fit for client relations, and she chose to stay in sales and account management positions ever since.
As a person who easily makes friends, Gwen enjoys being on the road and visiting clients.
“I feel like my career has come full circle,” Gwen says. “My first job when I was in high school was working at a pharmacy (Woodlawn Pharmacy in Baton Rouge) and now I get to return to working with pharmacies once again, so it just feels right.”
When not working, Gwen enjoys spending time with her four children, listening to good music, taking long walks and, of course, cheering for her alma mater, the Louisiana State University Tigers of Baton Rouge.
